“ADC Lagos Governorship Candidate, Funso Doherty, Claims Declining Standard of Living in the State Compared to 30 Years Ago”

Funso Doherty, the gubernatorial candidate for the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos State, has raised concerns about the declining living standards in the state, asserting that they are worse than they were 30 years ago. In an interview with Arise Television on Monday, Doherty emphasized that people’s quality of life, their ability to afford necessities comfortably, healthcare, and education have materially worsened compared to three decades ago. Doherty also recently expressed concerns about significant allocations in the 2023 Lagos State budget, highlighting various expenditures that he believes demand greater scrutiny. Among the allocations he pointed out were funds for bulletproof SUVs, a charter plane, liquid fragrance replacement, and infrastructure projects. He urged transparency, accountability, and ethical stewardship in government spending.
